Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is Breast Cancer Aware Month.........

A friend of mine hosts a Breast Cancer Fundraising Day every October. She has all of her friends pay an entry fee, bring a bottle or a plate to share and spare cash for raffles. It is always a great day! Last year I wasn't able to stay for long as hubby was away working and my son had basketball, so to try to do my little bit, I made around 70 little treat holders in pink and white - pillow boxes and candy wrappers - and filled them with chocolates. The ladies really seemed to like them, and although I initially made them for Jayne to give to her guests, the guests insisted on BUYING them to add to her total for the day - I was so happy!! So of course I am making some little treat holders for her fundraiser next weekend.
I know she doesn't subscribe to my blog, so I can share them with you and hopefully not spoil the surprise! The reason that I am doing it now and not after the fundraiser, is I am hoping to add further to her total raised. For the next week, until 6pm Perth time on Sunday 28th October, I am offering my commission on all orders received. So for every $100 spent (excluding postage) I will be able to add $20 to Jayne's total!! Can you help me out??
My commission will be donated on all orders, of any amount! But if you like what you see in the pics below, and place an order for them, then ALL money made will be donated as well!! Check them out:

These are the little pillow boxes I made. The die is retired now, but if you would like to order these little packets of gorgeousness, they are $3 each decorated (but empty) or $1 each for the blank die cut that you assemble and decorate yourself.
If you would like the supplies for these, let me know :)

This is a very simply decorated petite purse made with the petite purse die. This die is current and available to order. You can also place an order for these little purses - $3 each decorated, in your choice of colour of course - or $1 as a blank die cut for you to assemble and decorate yourself.

These little cuties are made with the candy wrapper die and the simply scored scoring tool. They are available to order - $4 each decorated (but empty) or $1 as a blank die cut that you assemble and decorate yourself. They are really easy to assemble and in person have such a wow factor!

Another version of the candy wrapper die. $3 each decorated (but empty) or $1 each as a blank die cut that you assemble and decorate yourself.

I will be making some different treat holders over the coming week, so I hope to post back here soon with some more inspiration.

All of these little treat holders can be made or cut out of your choice of Stampin' Up! coloured cardstock, and all of the supplies can be ordered from me at your convenience. Feel free to email, text or call, I would love to hear from you!

I would love to be able to hand Jayne a lovely donation next weekend, so if you can help me out I would really appreciate it! You would not only be getting fabulous Stampin' Up! product, but you would also be helping out a fantastic cause, one close to my heart. All monies paid for the treat holders will be donated, and all commission from any sales too!! Postage charges do apply for Stampin' Up! product orders and for the assembled, decorated treat holders, but all blank die cuts will be posted FREE!!

Let me know if you would like to be a part of this fabulous cause!!
Hope to hear from you soon!

More Holiday Ornaments...

Yep, it's official - I am addicted to making the Holiday Ornaments!!
Here are a couple more I have been working on......

These ornaments are quite large - this one measures 18cm from tip to tip. I have made 8 of this one to adhere to a wreath ring for my door at Christmas. The colours are whisper white, cherry cobbler and silver glimmer paper.

This one is much smaller, measuring 10cm from tip to tip. I have added one of our new vintage faceted buttons for some extra sparkle. I love pink and crumb cake together! I have also added silver glimmer paper and whisper white bakers twine to finish.

This last one is the same size as the pink one, made in exactly the same way. I made little ones as they will look fantastic on a Christmas tree! This is such a versatile stamp set, I love it! I have my fingers crossed that SU brings out some different coloured tulle for other projects - I would love to see white tulle added to our catalogue!

Let me know if you would like more info on these fabulous ornaments!!

Have a great day!

A Christmas Ornament Class

I am in love with Stampin' Up!'s Holiday Catalogue - which is new to Australia this year!! I have been busy making these gorgeous Holiday Ornaments and I have decided to offer them as a class - I hope you will be as excited as I am!

The first class is for the full ornament and it is gorgeous! It can be made in any colour you can think of, and I have put in a special request with Stampin' Up! Head Office for them to make different coloured tulle as soon as possible lol!!
Here is the full ornament:

(don't look too close haha, just noticed this one is missing a pearl!!)

So many possibilities for this gorgeous ornament, and they are quite large too, measuring between 5 inches and 6.5 inches across! The class is offered on the top red and the middle browns ornaments, the red/green ornament can be booked at a later date.

This class is $40 pp prepaid - your payment secures your seat, seats are strictly limited to 6.
Booking and prepayment is essential. The class fee covers all materials, full instructions you can take away with you and a light snack with tea and coffee included.

As with all of my classes, this class is a child-free event. If you would like to do the class but need to look after small children, feel free to book a date and I will come to you!

If you are unable to make the class for any reason, you are welcome to collect your kit to put together yourself at a later date. Instructions will be included.

This class is offered  on Monday 5th November at 10.30am and 7pm, then again on Thursday 8th November at 10.30am and 7pm. RSVP is essential and no later than Monday 29th October by 6pm to allow for orders of materials and to make up your kits.

If you would love to do the class, but feel that it looks a bit too complicated, how about making a less-involved ornament? I am offering a class on the ornament below:

Isn't it gorgeous? I am planning on making these for my kids classmates this year! This ornament takes about half the time the top ornaments take, but the effect is still fantastic! Did you notice other colours at the bottom? This ornament looks stunning in any colour you like!! You can choose your ornament colour - exceptions may apply - when you book, or you can make the blue one, it's up to you!!

Once again prepayment is essential.

This class is $25 pp prepaid - your payment secures your seat, seats are strictly limited to 6.

This class is offered on Tuesday 6th November at 10.30am and 7pm, then again on Wednesday 7th November at 10.30am and 7pm. RSVP is essential and no later than Monday 29th October by 6pm to allow for orders of materials and to make up your kits.

Why not bring a friend? If your friend is new to me for either class, you will both receive a free gift!! Book a table of 6 (including yourself) and your class is FREE!!

This is a fun ornament to make, in either size, and I would love to share it with you! If you can't see yourself making a class, these ornaments are also available to order in time for Christmas, in your choice of colour and style, just ask about your options!!

Why not give me a call? I would love to chat, or even meet up for coffee!

Until next time,
Kylie xxx

A Halloween House.....

Friday night at my house was Stamp Club night - and my birthday!! So I took two of my favourite things - stamping and Halloween - and put them together! I had black and orange balloons tied to the fence out the front, light up Halloween pumpkins scattered around the yard, the front door was festooned with fake spiderwebs and spiders, the door was decorated with a handmade black wreath made from a garbage bag and a gorgeous purple spider, there was Halloween lollies from the U.S. in cute little Halloween bowls and my kids dressed up as a friendly witch and the ghost face from the Scream movies to greet them as they arrived....it was a bit of fun, and they enjoyed it!!

I saw a pic on pinterest about a garbage bag wreath - so easy to do!

Just few samples with some of the Halloween lollies...
(forgive the walls - we are prepping to paint )

And our project for the night was this really cute little Halloween House Luminaria. If I'd had time during the week I would've cut out a lot more than I did, and just have the girls put it all together, but with school holidays, birthdays, the Royal Show and assorted other activities, time just flew! So the girls ended up doing a lot of the work themselves and it took them a while lol!! Two of them have since gone home and made more of the houses, some of them Christmas themed, so I didn't scare them off to much haha! Here they are:

Here is a closeup of the first one I made:

How cute are they?? There are three house windows, one door window and three roof windows which all let the battery tealight shine through, looks so cute in the dark! How cute is the little broom?? That's my favourite part of the house!

So I am offering this little house as a class! I will do ALL of the cutting out, all you will need to do is assemble it, which will cut down on time and effort considerably! There is no hot glue involved, but it is fiddly, so this class will be child-free. I will supply everything you need, you just come along and have fun! Bring a friend, and if they are new to me, you will get a free gift! If you get between 3 and 5 friends together, and book a class with me, your class will be FREE!! How's that for an offer!! Here are the details:

Class is a prepaid $40 pp - prepayment guarantees your spot, as spots are strictly limited to 6.

You can choose the colour of your house - exceptions may apply - so ask for your colour choice when you book!

There can't be last minute attendees as supplies will need to be ordered and I will need time to make up all of the kits.

Refunds cannot be offered as supplies will have been paid for - but you are welcome for someone else to take your spot if you can't make it, otherwise you will be able to collect your kit to assemble yourself at another time.

For your comfort and the comfort of others, children are unable to attend for any reason. You are welcome to host a class in your home if you need to look after children, but this class is for adult participation only.

The date of the class is Wednesday 24th October at 10.30am and repeated on Thursday 25th October at 10.30 am. RSVP is essential , and no later than Monday 15th of October by 6pm. This is to allow the ordering of the goodies and the making up of kits.

If you would prefer another date, feel free to get some friends together, or just you and a friend if you prefer and I can even come to you!

If you have any questions about this class, feel free to contact me! I would love to chat with you!!

I had a great time sharing this project with my stamp club ladies, and I would love to share it with you! Hope to hear from you soon :)

Until next time,
Kylie xxx

2012 - 2013 Annual Catalogue BLOG HOP!!

Welcome to the ESAD 2012/2013 Annual Catalogue Blog Hop! You may have just found yourself in the middle of it, or followed the link from the wonderful Libby Dyson, but I am glad that you are here! Don't we have some wonderful, talented Stampin' Up! Demonstrators in Australia and New Zealand? I am amazed every time I vist their blogs and see their gorgeous creations! I hope you get a chance to see all of the blog hop participants and while you are there, why not leave a lovely comment to thank them for the inspiration? All of the demos work hard to share what they love - namely Stampin' Up! -  and we love to see that you like what we do!!

What is ESAD?

ESAD stands for "Extra Special Australasian Demonstrators" and it is an on-line group just for Australian and New Zealand Stampin Up demonstrators.

We so love what we do and not only do we love to share it with our customers, friends, and wonderful blog visitors, but we share our love for what we do with each other as demonstrators. We run swaps, challenges, tutorials, product know-how, and cyberstamps, and we are always there to help and support each other when it is needed.

So if you are a Stampin' Up! demonstrator located in Australia or New Zealand, then please feel free to click here to join our wonderful group!

This is my creation for the Blog Hop - I hope you like it! I used a new stamp set called "Come to Bethlehem" (page 20). I loved this stamp set as soon as I saw it and I am looking forward to making a lot of Christmas cards this year! I saw this design on this website, another talented demo based in the U.S. and I loved it so much I had to share it here with you! I changed the colours for my CASE (copy and share everything) to neutral tones, and the brads for pearls, and that's it. I loved her original colours and will be using that colour scheme on them for personal use. It is a very easy design to recreate en masse, or just for special people - why don't you try it for yourself?

I used early espresso cardstock 121686, early espresso classic stampin' pad 126974, crumb cake cardstock 121685, crumb cake classic stampin' pad 126975, very vanilla cardstock 106549, whisper white cardstock 106550, neutrals designer series paper stack 117157, come to bethlehem unmounted stampset 120591, decorative label punch 120907, scallop oval punch 119856, dimensionals 104430, versamark stamp pad 102283, clear embossing powder 109130, heat tool 129056, pearl basic jewels 119247.

I also have a bit of an obsession with pinterest and 'pinning' pictures of decorative wreaths, you can find my boards here, so I thought I would make one for myself and share it with you. It is all in very vanilla and natural cane, but you could make it in any colours and in any theme - I will show my Halloween wreath for our Holiday Catalogue blog hop later in the month. It is very simple, using only ribbon, cardstock and pearls! It didn't take long to put together, and I have had it hanging on my door for a few days - and I really like it!

Sorry about the picture quality - I have asked for a light tent for my birthday next month to try and make my photos look better, so we will see what happens.
For this wreath I used very vanilla cardstock 106549, pearl basic jewels 119247, fun flowers bigz die 121812 and I stuck it all together with hot glue.

If you have any questions about how I made anything, or if you would like to order the products to make these, I would love to hear from you! Our new catalogues are out and available to order from 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, just call, text or email me and we can go from there!

I hope you are able to continue on your way around the blog hop, your next stop will be the wonderfully talented Monique Fielder. If you like anything that you see on your travels, be sure to leave a comment, it would be lovely to hear your thoughts!

Thanks so much for stopping by, I really enjoy your company! Have a great week!

Cheers,
Kylie xxx

There's something yummy in my new catalogue....

Have you seen the new Stampin' Up! catalogue yet? It is available to order from starting today!! I love the first day of the new catalogue - it's always so exciting!!
When I saw the catalogue for the first time I got really excited. There are so many things in this catalogue that I can't wait to use, but one stood out amongst all the others. I had been blog surfing the US demos websites and blogs and came across some cookie stamps - yep, stamps made just for stamping into cookies!! I am not a big sweet eater, but my family is, and they are always asking me to bake them something yummy. My kids particularly love muffins and cookies, so these stamps are just perfect! There are three different sets to choose from and I used the holidays set (125152) when I made mine yesterday. Check them out!

And here they are straight out of my oven:

How cute are they? The cookie stamps come with 2 yummy recipes and my kids can't get enough! How cute would they look packaged up in our cello bags ( 102210), tied with our Halloween or Christmas ribbon and popped into one of our Kraft boxes? Decorate one of the Kraft boxes and you have a fab little gift!! This is what the Kraft box looks like plain - they measure 9 x 9 x 6.5cm. (124106).

And here are some decorated, just to give you an idea how they could look - I found this pic here - yet another talented Stampin' Up! Demonstrator.

Do you love to bake cookies? These cookie stamps are really easy to use and are dishwasher safe - they could even be used in play dough! They come with a quality wooden handle that fits both kids and adults hands comfortably.
So that's your first peek at the new cookie stamps. If you want to see these stamps in action, let me know, I would love to show you!

I will be back soon with more fabulous product from the new Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue!
    Cheers,

Why not give a Gift Certificate?

Have you wondered what to get the Stamper/Papercrafter in your life? Sometimes it is hard to know exactly what they would like or need, so why not give a certificate? No stress for you, and the recipient can then choose exactly what they would like - who doesn't like a gift certificate/card?

I have gift certificates available right now! Just contact me and payment can be made straight into my bank account. Gift certificates last for 6 months from date of purchase and can be made for any amount. They don't have to be spent all at once, but each order does incur postage fees which will come out of the certificate value. Each gift certificate comes with the current catalogue, and if you like, I can pop it in a handmade certificate holder for that added touch. Any papercrafter would love to have spending dollars for Stampin' Up! - I wish someone would buy me one lol!!

If you would like to see what the certificate looks like, contact me and I will email you a picture. I am unable to email you the voucher, it will be sent through the post free of charge if just the certificate, or with postage charges if includes catalogue (s), or I will hand deliver if you are local to me. This certificate cannot be redeemed through any demonstrator other than me, and is not endorsed by or valid with, Stampin' Up! the company. The gift certificate and orders can only be sent to an Australian address. I cannot ship outside of Australia. All orders paid for with the gift certificate can be placed by email or by phone -  I will keep track of the amount spent and let the recipient know when they have reached their limit.

And that's it! No stress, no fuss and boy, will you be in the good books!!!! This certificate would be fantastic for birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas gifts, or just because! Chat to me today about how to organise your gift.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope to see you soon!

    cheers,

    Saying goodbye to some favourites.....

Don't you love these ecards? Some clever little bunnies are able to change the text to say anything they like, and I think this one is so cute!!

There are only 11 days left in August, which means there are only 11 days left to get your hands on some wonderful product that will sadly be retiring forever from Stampin' Up!. The retiring lists are out and some items sold out immediately, with more going over the following days. If you would like an updated list of sold outs, let me know and I will get it to you :)

This current catalogue was a really great one, with so many gorgeous things - the year wasn't long enough for me to share everything that I loved with my stamp club or with my Stampin' Party hostesses and guests! One of my favourite techniques is two-step stamping. That's where you stamp the bold image, then you stamp over it with an outline image in a darker or different colour to make it pop! This year we had a two-step stamp set in the Hostess section called 'Simply Soft'. I love it! I have used it as hostess and customer thank you cards, as a sympathy card and as a 'just because' or 'thinking of you' kind of card. I love RAK cards (random acts of kindness) and if I have spare time (haha what's that!!) I sit down and make a bunch of cards to send out en masse to my customers or friends. I also make all of the Birthday cards for my hubby's clients (he is a mortagage broker) and quite often get nice compliments - which I love!!
I have made two cards here, which I also shared with my stamp club, and they are an incredibly simple design, but I find that the majority of my stampin party ladies do prefer simple as they can make a statement without it being too busy. This first one is made with Very Vanilla cardstock, Marina Mist cardstock and Marina Mist ink.

This second one is made with Very Vanilla cardstock and Rich Razzleberry cardstock, and Rich Razzleberry ink.

I had two ladies contact me the day they received them to see how they could order the product to make their own, so they must've liked them!

Do you have a favourite stamp set or accessory that is retiring? There are so many lovely things, it really is hard to pick just one!

So now I am off to prepare for one of my team members popping over today to catch up on all the Stampin' Up! news as she has been away on family business, and to help her prepare for her workshop on Thursday, as she is still new to it all - I love to help out!

    Catch up with you soon!

    cheers,

    Stampin' Up! Advertising

Have you seen the latest ads for Stampin' Up! I really like them, and although one of them is causing quite a stir - I will leave that up to you to decide which lol - if you take it in the light-hearted manner I am certain SU intended it to be, you might get a giggle!

What do you think of these:

So great. I particularly like the one about art - we all need it in some form, be it our childrens' "artwork" from daycare/kindy/preprimary (hehe remember?) be it in our handmade gifts, cards, scrapbook pages, off the page etc. Or in our gardens, or the pieces we hang on our walls. Life without art is a less-enhanced life - art is in the eye of the beholder. It really is. What appeals to me may not appeal to you, but that is what is great about ART! I tell my stamp club ladies and the guests at the stamping parties I do, that it is never wrong, it is art! Your art, your style, your way!! As long as YOU like it, that is all that matters.
I like to think of myself as an artist. An artist in papercraft. Now I may not have the most imaginitive mind, and tend to go with what has been tried and tested in my style, but it soothes me, and that is something art is meant to do - it is meant to invoke a feeling, be it soothing, uplifting, shocking, angry, happy, sad - that is the purpose of art. What in your life is your art? Are you experimenting with what you like to do? Have you dabbled in papercraft and want to try it again? Stampin' Up! is a great place to learn and share! Why not see for yourself? A Stampin' Party is a great place to start! Find out how today, I would love to chat :)

    See you next time!
