Recent Stamp Club and Class Projects....

I thought you might like to see a few photos of some of the projects my stamp club and class ladies have been making recently. We have focussed on the current Seasonal Catalogue - formerly called the mini catalogue - and on the big shot as that is a must-have!

We made this card at a recent Big Shot Class at Linley's house. I saw the original on Pinterest, click HERE  to see it. It uses the new Dress Up Framelits which I am currently obsessed with!

I also made a matching trinket box using the Top Note Die:



Yes - I used the same cardstock (marina mist) but the lighting makes it look completely different! I wanted to showcase the gorgeous Flower Trim from the new Seasonal Catalogue, so went for a more traditional look.

Here is another version of the card, this time I omitted the dress form and added one of our new coathanger embellishments - so cute!! I changed the ribbon and made a marina mist flower.

These cards and box would make a lovely wedding shower/wedding gift or change out the colours and sentiment to suit the occasion!

New Wood-Mount Cases

Introducing our new wood-mount stamp set packaging! These new cases are similar to our clear-mount boxes and fit perfectly on the shelf right next to them. They also have the images and stamp set name on the spine to make your search for the right set even easier.

Starting 1 July all wood-mount sets will come in this new packaging, and empty cases will be available with the launch of the new catalogue. That means you can transfer all your old sets to these new boxes! There will even be a template for you to create your own label for your old stamp sets (available 1 July). A pack of four half-size cases (9.5 x 14 cm) will sell for $8.95 AUD/$10.50 NZD and a pack of four full-size cases (19.1 x 14 cm) will be $11.95 AUD/$14.50 NZD.

Just had an announcement from Stampin' Up! about a colour refresh - no, no, not that big colour renovation we had a couple of years ago, this is a smaller refresh of some of our core colours. Here is what Stampin' Up! had to say in an update:

Well it has been three years and we are excited to announce that the upcoming 2013-2014 annual catalogue will include 10 new colours (most of which are returning In Colors from previous years)! We are welcoming back some of your favourites, moving some colours around, and introducing three brand-new colours, so take a look!



Beginning on 4 April 2013, all retiring/discontinued colour products (i.e. ink, paper, ribbon, accessories, etc.) will be available only while supplies last. This means that some products will not be available through the retired list period.We encourage you to get your favourites and look forward to the exciting colours coming in the 2013-2014 annual catalogue.

CARDS, CAKE AND A CUPPA: This class is for 2 cards (assorted themes) and it runs for 2 hours including morning tea. Cost is $15 pp and RSVP and prepayment is essential for catering and kit, 48 hours before class starts.
 Class does start strictly on time.
Unfortunately, children cannot be catered for at my residence, but I am happy to come to you at another time!
This class is available for dates other than recorded here - if there is another day/time that suits you better, let me know, I am happy to work with you!

CHICKS AND CHOCOLATE: This class is for 3 x 3D projects that can hold little chockies (or small gifts) for gifts. Assorted themes - class can be tailored to your event, conditions apply. Class runs for 2 hours and costs $20 which includes morning tea.RSVP is essential for catering and kit.

STAMP CLUB: This is a monthly,bi-monthly or quarterly group. Currently I have one stamp club that meets monthly and are all commited to spending $50 each per month. Each month, one of the members is 'hostess' - which just means she collects the hostess gifts and freebies on offer that month. Each member gets to be hostess in each round. Benefits begin at $300 sales, so if there are 3 of you, that's $100 each to spend, 6 of you, that's $50 each, etc. Stamp club can be tailored to your needs with no stress! DECORATING KRAFT BOXES: I am loving the Kraft boxes from the Annual Catalogue, page 161. I love to decorate them and fill them with small gifts, chocolates/lollies or even cookies made with our cookie stamps! (all supplies for these can be found on page 161). Class will be decorating 2 of the Kraft Boxes with many ideas to decorate more at home. Cost is $15 and includes morning or afternoon tea.

BASIC STAMPING CLASS: This class is for the beginner stamper to learn in a relaxed atmosphere. We promote a relaxed pace and learn easy (but cool) techniques and how to use tools.
This class is great for one-on-one learning or for a group to learn together and will be offered as needed - feel free to book a Basic Stamping Class at your place now!
Cost is $15 or free with an order of $50 or more.

Exciting convention news...

We have had a couple of exciting announcements on our Stampin' Up! Demonstrator website in the last 24 hours, and it's all about Convention!! They have announced the schedule and I have to tell you how excited I am! And I am excited to share it with you too!

Thank You!!

I just wanted to pop in here to say a very warm THANK YOU to everyone that responded to the fantastic joining offer Stampin' Up! is offering at the moment.........I had three lovely ladies sign up YESTERDAY to get me to that elusive Manager level I was so desperately aiming for!!
I am so excited to get to Manager as I can now attend the Leadership and Manager meetings that Stampin' Up! is organising during our upcoming Convention in Brisbane in May. Being in Perth, I haven't been able to attend Convention before now - I am coming up to my 4th year as a Stampin' Up! demonstrator - and we have a lot on in May (Hubby's birthday to mention just one!), that I didn't think I would ever get there, but my hubby has been so supportive and sportingly agreed to me running off for nearly a week to get my crafty fix!! I will have to make up for missing his birthday with a super special cake I think hehe!!
With this being my first Convention, I really pushed hard to make it to Manager when I realised that it was within reach - and my friends being as fabulous as they are, decided that they couldn't pass up the amazing joining offer during Sale-a-bration, and as they see how much I enjoy being a part of the SU family, took the plunge just in time for me to promote!!
I certainly couldn't have done it without my wonderful customers - the majority of whom have now become my regular crafting buddies, and some of whom have become my chosen family, and all through our love of papercraft! I am so blessed to have found these lovely ladies, and to be a part of Stampin' Up! that I can't even tell you!

Sale-a-bration

So less than a month until Sale-a-bration finishes for 2013 - do you have your free goodies yet??

I was completely bamboozeled by this years SAB catty - it is pretty full on - but this is the first year we have had more than 4 things to choose from. This time we had a whopping 19 items to choose from, even some from the Annual Catalogue. We had a mix of stamp sets, buttons and ribbon, designer series paper, embossing folder and simple sent card kits - something for everyone! The very first item I claimed was the Feeling Sentimental stamp set in clear mount 129630. It just jumped out at me! I have made lots of pretty things with it, but when I came across this card on Pinterest, I had to remake it!!

Now my photography doesn't do this gorgeous card any justice at all! I tried to find the original to link back, but no luck - so to the original artist, cheers! I love your card!! (pictured above is my version). This card is made with the traditional A5 sized piece of cardstock, and instead of folding it short side to short side, I folded it long side to long side, making a card that is long and thin! I adore the flower trim from the new Seasonal Catalogue and have used it on so many projects since it became available! I so hope it is carried over to the new Annual Catalogue later in the year!

What a difference sanding makes....

So the new Seasonal Catalogue - click here - has so many gorgeous products in it that you need to go through it several times to see them all!! I have been through the catty so many times, I even have it saved to my ipad so that I can flick through it when I am out - my ipad has certainly paid for itself with being able to show customers or potential customers what I am talking about right then and there!

My new love from the Seasonal Catalogue is the Core'dinations Card Stock. We had 3 colours of this cardstock in our Holiday Mini, but with so much else in that catalogue, I didn't get to focus on it, but with this catalogue comes new colours!!

Page 12 shows you the new colours for this catalogue - Pool Party (my fav!!), Primrose Petals and Real Red. Using a sanding block - check out our little cutie! - you can sand back a portion of the cardstock revealing a monochromatic (lighter version of top colour ) version in that area. When embossed with an embossing folder, the raised part just begs to be sanded, as much or as little as you like! Check out my before and after below - the sentiment is from a stamp set exclusive to Sale-a-bration:

Sorry about the lighting - it makes it a little hard to see th details. I used the sentiment from the Sale-a-bration set Vintage Verses 129636, the new Pool Party Core'dinations cardstock and some favs from the Annual Catalogue - this card is perfectly acceptable in it's current form, but wait until you add an embossing folder and a sanding block! :

Yep, it is the same colour card, but clearly  my lighting has changed it somewhat!! How different does it look just by adding the texture from the embossing folder - Framed Tulips 121809. and the sanding block from the new mini - Stampin' Sanding System Block 129367. I just love this card and when I showed it at my last workshop, the ladies all loved it too! The sanded part of the image feels almost like velvet.......

Today is the second last day of February - wow has the year gone fast for you too?? I am hoping to make Manager in time for this years Convention in May, BUT I need to have my team firmly in place by the end of Feb.......can you see yourself as part of my team? I need two lovely people to join my team by the end of tomorrow (Thursday, 28th Feb) to make it to Manager level......can you help??

Being a part of Stampin' Up!, where I am my own boss, able to make my own decisions on how much I work or don't work my business each week, how much I spend and what I spend it on, how much I share the opportunity or not with other people, how much I work it around my life - completely up to me each and every day! There is no pressure to sell above my minimums - which to tell you the truth, even if I didn't have one customer, I could make on my own each quarter as I am addicted to SU product!! It is the smallest minimum requirements of all of the party-plan my friends all do........

You have access to as much or as little team training as you like with me, I am always happy to help you out in any way that I can. I want you to enjoy the Stampin' Up! experience as much as I do - but if it turns out that it is not for you, then you walk away with no stress, nothing else to spend, and without being hassled, by me or anyone at SU! You can even take advantage of the joining special and never buy another thing, but I have to warn you, once you see all the benefits of staying a part of SU!, you will find it very hard to walk away lol!! I usually only see other demos at yearly training, sometimes I catch up with my sidelines, but not often - I do it all my own way! I always have the option of doing more with other demos, but with my busy family life and my hubby's work schedule, I slot my business in when I can, and I am quite happy crafting with my friends and sharing my love that way. So now you have no excuse lol!

Stampin' Up! Seasonal Catalogue....

So we have had the new Seasonal Catalogue (formerly the Mini Catalogue) available to order from for nearly a month now - do you have yours? I CASED this card from Pinterest (link to my boards) and just changed out the colours and sentiment to what I had on hand - this card showcases one of the new ribbons ( 1cm striped organdy ribbon melon mambo 129293), a fabulously verstatile new stamp set ( That's the Ticket 128075) and my favourite item from the new catalogue ( Flower Trim 126869), not to mention some favs from the Annual Catalogue:)

This one I just love and I used it as my last Make and Take at a workshop for a friend. I again CASED it from Pinterest (link to my boards). This card showcases the new embossing folder from the Seasonal Catty ( Cloudy Day 127022), the new doilies (Paper Doilies 129399), a new stamp set ( That's the Ticket 128075) as well as some favs from the Annual Catalogue.

This one was CASED on Pinterest (link to my boards) - original creator Catherine Pooler - check out her blog, she is one talented lady!! I changed mine out with different dsp, sentiment and flowers as that is what I had on hand, plus some favs from the Annual Catalogue .

Oh Happy Day!! Oh Happy Day!!

I just had one of my lovely crafty friends over for coffee and she joined right then and there on my ipad - she had her list all written down and was super organised and so very excited!! I thought I would share some simple cards I found on a U.S. demo site -  Mary Fish is one of my favourite demonstrators! Check out her original designs. These are the ones I made:

 

I didn't change them - why mess with perfection?? - and don't the colours just pop with the addition of the mini brad? Such a simple card, but with plenty of wow! I made a whole heap of them for my hubby's clients, they really seem to like the personal touch of a handmade card for their birthday. I really like this stamp set - it is called Feeling Sentimental and it is absolutely free with an order of $100! Convention approaches.....

Every year Stampin' Up! holds a 3 day Convention for all of us craft-crazy demonstrators from all over Australia and New Zealand. This year it is being held in Brisbane at the Brisbane Convention Centre in Southbank. I was in Southbank 18 months ago and what a fantastic place!

I can't wait to see this place again!! 3 Days of crafting bliss - learning new techniques, using new product, hearing news about the upcoming annual catalogue - and I get to go with some crafty friends!! This will be my first convention and I can't wait!! 5 days away from the hubby and the kids isn't a bad incentive either hehe!!

But I need some help!! I would like to go to the Manager's Reception while I am there - they always hear the coolest stuff and I want to hear it too!! I currently need one more lovely lady to join my team - is that lady you?? Once I have my team of 6, I would need one of my team to have someone join under them and I will promote to Manager!! Have you ever thought about joining the coolest company around?? Do you and a friend want to have a hobby together? I can promise that you won't regret it! So, I just found out that two of my lovely crafty friends will be coming with me to convention in May, and I am so excited!!
I have an iPad but have never successfully managed to blog from it u til I found an app called Blogsy, so here I am trying it out, so bear with me lol! I wanted to be able to blog every day from convention, because I have followed along avidly devouring all of the info and photos other SU demos so kindly posted during previous conventions. This will be my first convention, and I wanted to share for those that can't make it this year!

Helpful Tips:

• Adhere Talking Tag to a flat surface, otherwise the scanner can’t read the code.
• Multiple tags can be attached to one surface, but don’t place them too close together. When scanning a message, you shouldn’t be able to see another code on the screen
• Do not write or place any decoration over the label.
• Talking Tag has a permanent adhesive and cannot be repositioned once attached to a surface. Attempting to remove it could tear the label, making it impossible to listen to the content.
• A Talking Tag message label can only hold one message. Once a message is confirmed, it cannot be deleted or re-recorded.

Welcome to 2013!!

Can you believe we are in 2013 already?? Wowee 2012 went quick!! I just want to slow time down and just look around and breathe - how about you?

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year - we spent Christmas Day with family and New Years with friends I consider my family, it was wonderful - but you know, the recent Perth heatwave was terrible!! I so hoped for a cool Christmas day for a change, but it wasn't to be unfortunately........will hold out hope for a cool one this year hey? We have had two gorgeous weather days and I have spent them in my craftroom prepping for my first Stamp Club of the year - it was great to be back in there!!

I have to tell you about the latest specials from Stampin' Up! They are starting the year off with a bang!! The new Seasonal Mini is available for Demonstrators to order from right now, and will be available for everyone else from February 1st - I love being able to get my goodies so much earlier!!
