Another workshop make and take

Off to another workshop this morning, this time for a group of ladies that meet regularly to craft, so I needed to come up with something that would wow them!
I was browsing the internet when I came across a card using the new 'Lovely Floral' Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, a versamark pad, and the Big Shot.
Intrigued? I was too!!
So how do you do it? You lightly run the versamark pad over the raised image in the embossing folder, place your card front inside and run through the Big Shot. Once that's done, you sprinkle over the embossing powder, and heat with your heat gun. Ta daa! You are left with a gorgeous, shiny image that shows off the deep impression from the embossing folder.
Here are some samples, we will be making the copper one:

Here is the hostess gift I made using the same template as my last post, but the cardstock width this time was 16cms, not 24cms, so that you can fit in 3 candles instead of 5. I used the Share What You Love specialty designer series paper as the heavy-weight paper is perfect for 3D projects. I also used the pearlized doilies, and sponged crumb cake on the opposite side, and a tag from the Share What You Love Embellishment Kit.

The supplies for the cards and the hostess gift are below:

Workshop Make and Take and Hostess Gift

I had my first workshop in a long time on Sunday - I mainly do paid classes - and it was nerve-wracking! I hate standing in front of people talking about the catalogue, even though I love talking about the catalogue!
I'm not a public speaker at all!
I much prefer doing a class, I find that a bit easier - sitting down with the attendees and showing them the sample, running through how to make it, then step-by-step repeating instructions as we make it together. The attendees are focused on their project, barely looking at me as they work, so much better lol!

The ladies were lovely. Some of them drove up from Mandurah - now that's commitment! It was a chilly, miserable day, we were up in the Perth Hills, and the view was just gorgeous!
Perfect day for stamping!
Some of the ladies were new to stamping, and hadn't done heat embossing before, so I enjoyed showing them the technique, and they loved the wow of watching the embossing powder melt!
Here is the sample, which I cased from the internet:

The flower images and the sentiment have been embossed in gold. I took the whole stamp set - Love What You Do - and some of the ladies changed the flower or the sentiment and made the card their own, it was great seeing them get right into it!
Here are the supplies that I used to make this card:

Here is the hostess gift I made, and you can get the template I used here

I put aromatic candles from IKEA in the side and they smell gorgeous! I left it blank for the hostess to regift if she liked.
I made a smaller one for my hostess on Thursday, I'll be back then to show you :)

Gift Bag and Matching Card

I recently came across this gorgeous gift bag and its matching card - which becomes the decoration for the bag, how clever! - on a US Demonstrator's blog, and fell in love with it! It's so simple, quick and easy to put together, and is just so lovely with the new Share What You Love specialty designer series paper. The paper is thick so it works very well with 3D projects, and it is currently my favourite paper! I can't wait for the new 2018/19 Annual Catalogue to start next week so that I can replenish my supply of it!

Here is my version of the bag and card, what do you think, do you like it?

These are very simple to make, they only use 2 pieces of 12 x 12 paper and some cardstock for the card backing and the card decorations. You can use any paper you like, it doesn't have to be thick, although regular patterned paper is not made to hold heavy items, so you could add a small piece of cardstock in the base for extra strength if you like.
Here is the original version that I remade:

The only thing that I changed from the original design was the card hanger on the front of the bag, I made mine thinner (see above on the pink one).

I am offering this bag and card as a class for $15 per person, with everything supplied except adhesive. You will need your favourite liquid glue (I prefer tombow) or very strong tape, and dimensionals. Invite me over with a few friends - or just you if you like! - and lets get making!

Time to Share What You Love!

In honour of Stampin' Up! turning 30 this year, they have released the gorgeous "Share What You Love" Suite from the upcoming Annual Catalogue, a whole month early!
This suite is full of stunning florals and the heavy-weight designer series paper is pearlised and so pretty!
I'm not usually a florals person, but I have had some time to play with the stamps and paper in this collection, and it is so beautiful.

For the month of May, you can place an order for any of the 3 bundles that were released today, depending on your stamping needs.

Bundle One:
"Just Getting Started"

This bundle is perfect for the stamper that wants to make simple but gorgeous cards using minimal supplies. Everything that you need to immediately start stamping is included in this bundle, just add your favourite adhesive, and you are good to go! This bundle comes with a FREE gift -  Very Vanilla envelopes, valued at $11.50!

Bundle Two:
"A Little More, Please"

This bundle is great for the stamper that loves to make their cards a little more detailed, or more colourful, and again, all you have to add is your favourite adhesive. This bundle comes with 2 FREE gifts -  Very Vanilla envelopes and the Share What You Love Embellishment Kit - that's a saving of $30.75!

Bundle Three:
"Gotta Have It All"

This bundle includes everything in the "Share What You Love" suite of products, and is just beautiful! The embossing folder is a Dynamic Textured Impressions Folder and gives a really deeply embossed image, it's one of my favourite things in the new catalogue. The Designer Series Paper that is included is a double-sized pack - 24 sheets of 12 x 12" paper that is double sided and heavy weight, making it perfect for all of your 3D crafting, as well as on your cards and scrapbook pages. And the pearlisation on the flowers is really lovely - I can't stop using it! You also get 3 FREE gifts with this bundle - Very Vanilla envelopes, the Share What You Love embellishment kit, and the exclusive-to-this-bundle stamp set called "Statement of My Heart" which won't be in the new catalogue, it's only available in this bundle for the month of May. That's a saving of $51.75!!

These bundles, along with their free gifts,  are only available for May - once the new catalogue comes out in June, these items, with the exception of the "Statement of My Heart" stamp set, will only be available to purchase individually.

Every bundle purchased will include an upcoming catalogue posted out to you separately, once the catalogues arrive, along with a small gift from me to say thank you!
