Wrapped in Christmas Gatefold Card

 I came across a cute gatefold card recently, and it opened a little differently than usual.

Here's my version :

I used Garden Green and Real Red card stock and some paper from the Poinsettia Petals dsp pack.

I started with a half sheet of A4 (10.5cms x 29.7cms) and scored it 7.4cms from either end.

You need 2 pieces of Whisper White for the inside panel and outside mat that measure 10cms x 14.3cms.

You need 2 pieces of dsp for the small fold up bottom panel that measure 10cms x 6.8cms. These can be the same or different patterns.

You need 1 piece of dsp for the outside panel that measures 10cms x 13.8cms.

You need a Whisper White panel for the sentiment and a coordinating colour piece to mat the sentiment.

A ribbon tied around the top panel and made into a knot or a bow will complete the look.

This layout can be for any reason - birthday, holiday, thank you etc, using the colours and dsp that you have on hand.

Friends and Family Are The Truest Gifts Of Christmas....

It's World Cardmaking Day! 

Every year, on the first weekend in October, we celebrate cardmaking!

This year I am away for my birthday, so I made a few cards and 3D items ahead of time to share with you today, and I am starting with a simple gift card holder and matching card.

And it is really simple, so that it can be easily reproduced for a whole range of reasons - think birthdays, holidays, thank you, etc.

This one is for Christmas, using the Wrapped In Christmas stamp set, and the Poinsettia Place Designer Series Paper, which is also one of our paper packs that is 15% off for the month of October :)

The card is a standard size - a sheet of cardstock cut in half lengthways. I added a piece of Poinsettia Place dsp to the front, it measures 13.3cms x 9cms. I stamped the sentiment onto Very Vanilla and die cut it using the Stitched So Sweetly dies. I cut out the mat from Early Espresso using another of the Stitched So Sweetly dies. I added dimensionals to the back and adhered it to the front of my card. I added a couple of the Elegant Faceted Gems to the sentiment for some added sparkle, you could add any gems you like...

The giftcard holder is also cut from the Poinsettia Place dsp, it measures 4" (10.2cm) x 9 5/8" (24.5cms) and it is scored at 1 3/4" (4.5cms), 4 1/2" (11.5 cms), 5 3/4" (14.6cms) and 7" (17.8 cms).

On the fold in the middle, adhere the two outer edges to form a pocket, then measure the width of the gift card, and using the classic label punch, punch out the fold so that the gift card can slot inside.

The belly band measures 1" (2.5cms) x 6 1/2" (16.5cms), wrapped around and secured in the middle at the front - it will be covered by the sentiment panel, leaving the whole band looking neat.

Stamp and punch out another sentiment panel just like the one that you adhered to the front of the card and you are done!

If you place an order this week, October 3-10, I'll send you a completed set plus a kit so that you can make your own - designs will differ from this one, depending on the dsp I have on hand, but it will be Christmassy!

International Coffee Day!

It's International Coffee Day on Thursday!

What a great excuse to have a coffee, or spoil someone with a coffee gift card!

I made a card with a built in pocket for a gift card using Misty Moonlight card stock, and a sheet of flowers from the Flowers For Every Season dsp pack.

I added an embossed panel of Misty Moonlight to the front, then a panel of the flowers, before adding a die cut sentiment to the front with dimensionals. The stamp set I used is Warm Hugs.

I added Whisper White panels inside to write my message on.

Start with a piece of Misty Moonlight cardstock measuring 10.5cm x 29.7cm - half an A4 sheet cut longways.

Score it at 13cm and 26cm, fold and burnish your score lines. Adhere the white panels inside the card before folding up and adhering the sides of the pocket. The white panels measure 12.5cm x 10cm, and you need two of them. You can stamp on and write on the other, or just add one, up to you :)

The embossed panel on the front of the card measures 10cm x 12.5cm and I embossed it with the Subtle embossing folder.

The flower panel is matted in Whisper White, which measures 10.8cm x 8cm, and the flower panel measures 10.3cm x 7.5cm.

The sentiment is stamped onto Whisper White with Misty Moonlight ink, and cut out using the coordinating Warm Wraps dies. I popped them up on mini dimensionals and adhered to the front of the card.

I added pops of Wink of Stella on the flowers, and a gem in the middle of the cup for some added sparkle.

The photos aren't great - for some reason the beautiful blue isn't coming in a true colour, but it really is lovely in real life!

I popped in some yummy Godiva Ganache Hearts, they are so good!
