2013 ESAD Holiday Catalogue Blog Hop!!

It's that time of year again - the Annual ESAD Holiday Catalogue Blog Hop! Join us as we showcase some of the gorgeous product you will find inside the catalogue!!

Whether you have just started on your hop or you have come from Amity Knight's blog, welcome!!

I really love this years' catalogue - it is totally different to any Holiday Catalogue we have had before - even the layout is completely different! Pages and pages of inspiration in the front half, and all of the product information in the back half - and the product!! You have to check it out for yourself!

One of the first things I bought this year was the Festive Flurry Bundle. Although Australia doesn't do snowflakes at Christmas, you can't stop a girl from wishing!! The colours this year cry out for snowflakes!!

My first sample is one of our new Tag a Bag Gift Boxes (from the Annual Catalogue) decorated with the new Winter Frost Specialty Designer Series Paper (just gorgeous!) and the Festive Flurry Stamp Set and matching Framelits. I used Coastal Cabana ink and our new Silver Metallic Inkpad. I love this new addition to our inks - it looks embossed even though it isn't!
I embossed the acetate cover of the box with our Polka Dot Embossing folder for a bit of added texture (has to be my favourite embossing folder of all time!). A bit of shredded Coastal Cabana cardstock and voila!

My next sample is one of our new Decorative Window Gift Boxes. These little boxes are about half the height of our Kraft Gift Boxes, and perfectly hold 9 Ferrero Rocher chocolates (just in case you needed an example of what to fill them with!!).

I decorated this with the same Winter Frost Specialty Designer Series Paper, Festive Flurry Stamp Set and matching Framelits. I ran some of our new Silver 3.2mm Ribbon down the middle of the belly band for a bit of extra sparkle - it's really metallic in real life! I used plenty of Stampin' Dimensionals for extra height and finished it off with our self-adhesive rhinestones - the more bling the better at Christmas, right??
The belly band just slides off so that the box can be opened and closed as often as you like.

My last sample is a quick and easy card using  Coastal Cabana cardstock - the colours are just so me this year!
I cut the window out with the second largest Festive Flurry Framelit, then hung the two smallest framelits from the top of the cutout with the new silver ribbon. The matching window framelit is adhered to the mat inside the card. A little bit of scoring with the Simply Scored Tool and a sentiment and you are done!
It's so easy to have matching décor and gifts with Stampin' Up!s new range of Holiday products - and you just have to check out the new kits - not only are they oh so cute, they are oh so time-saving! Ask me for your copy of the Holiday Catalogue today to see for yourself!
Next on your hop is the lovely Kathryn Ruddick. Don't forget to give her some comment love!
I am so glad that you stopped by! I would love to hear your thoughts on my samples of just some of the goodies available in the new Holiday Catalogue, so please leave me a comment!!
I have posted some classes - click on the pink button on the right to see them - mostly using new product from the Holiday Catalogue - join me for some Holiday fun!!
Until next time,

Make a Statement Digital Tour Perth

It was Perth's turn on Saturday to host the Make a Statement Digital Tour for the fabulous software for digital designing that Stampin' Up! released earlier this year - My Digital Studio.

I played with MDS when it first came out, as Stampin' Up! has generously made a free trial available to everyone, and you get to play with it for 30 days before you have to decide whether you want to buy the full version or not. I advise everyone to try it - it's FREE and it's fabulous!

When I registered for Convention we were given the full version - for free, how generous is that?? - and I didn't play with it again until after convention. I attended a class there, even though I didn't have a laptop to practice on, I was able to follow along and I even managed to retain that information to use when I got home. Once I started playing with it, armed with just that little bit of information, I was amazed at how easy it was to use!

So when Stampin' Up! announced the Tours for August I talked to some of my friends/team members and we made the decision to go along and see what we could learn next. What a fabulous day! Stampin' Up! provided wonderful presenters and helpers and we sat in the comfort of the Convention Centre and immersed ourselves in My Digital Studio.

The presenters - Sarah Klass and Sophie Zadeh - went through how to add photos to one of the photo book templates included in MDS, how to alter colours and layouts, how to add embellishments and elements and repeated the steps as needed without making all of us newbies feel like newbies lol! It was relaxed and informative and I'm amazed at how easy it all was once you started "pushing buttons" as Sarah suggested! I really enjoyed myself and can't wait to start a photo book in MDS myself - it's time all of those convention photos had a home!

There were wonderful "physical" displays of scrapbook layouts, party décor, Christmas Advent Calanders, photo books etc, all made in MDS,  available for us to be inspired by and take pics of. There was also a whole table filled with fabulous new product from the upcoming Holiday Catalogue, and we had the opportunity to win new product with the Prize Patrols making an appearance - so exciting!

Once our brains were filled to capacity with new and exciting information, the session was over and it was time to go - but not too far! Our train went right by the Crown Casino, so it was only fair to stop in for a cocktail or two and something yummy to eat!

It was a really great day all around, and I am so grateful to SU! for providing us with such wonderful product and opportunities to learn more about it. I am most grateful to SU! for the friends I have made - the two ladies I went with I have grown close to because of SU! - and that is the best part of all!

If you would like to know anything about My Digital Studio or more about the Digital Tour, contact me today! I would love to hear from you!

Until next time,
Kylie xxx

Merry Little Kits.......

One of the fab new things in the upcoming Holiday Catalogue - available August 29th, ask for your copy today! - is a really cute little Christmas card kit. It is in the traditional Christmas colours of Real Red and Gumball Green with the addition of one of our new In Colours - Coastal Cabana!

Included in the kit are gorgeous envelope liners in Real Red, our Whisper White envelopes, gorgeous, exclusive designer series paper (dsp), Whisper White flagged tags to stamp, Real Red buttons and Gumball Green Bakers Twine - enough to make 8 of the cutest cards ever! You can also purchase the stamp set you see stamped on the tag in both clear or wood. Or buy them both in a bundle and save 15%!!

How cute is that?? And it only took minutes to put together - threading the button was the longest part lol!
I am offering this as a class on Thursday 12th September at 10am - but if that date doesn't suit, book me for another time and date!

The class costs $10 plus the cost of the kit, and there are 3 options for this class:

  • Class with stamp, wood mount, $44.75 , which includes all postage, adhesive ,ink, card kit and refreshments.

Payment can be made into my bank account, I will supply details once you have rsvp'd, or you can pay by cash in person or pay using Paypal.

This class is available for your own booking - I just need time to get the kits delivered - so start your Christmas planning now and book me in!! You can come to me or I can come to you!!

Book in here at my class schedule on my website - and while you are there, check out my other upcoming classes!

You can of course just order this gorgeous card kit and make them on your own, but why not get together with some other ladies - your friends or new friends - and make them while having something yummy to eat and a bit of a laugh?

I love stamping in company, and would love to spend time stamping with you! Give me a call today!
Until next time,

Chicks and Chocolate Class

Last week I held a Chicks and Chocolate class, where we made 3 little chocolate gift holders and filled them Ferrero Rocher chocolates and the little boxes of smarties, yum!
Here they are:

We had a lovely time making these, they are quick and simple. We used the Label Love stamp set and the matching punch from the new Annual Catalogue - such a great set! It wasn't a set I was originally going to buy, but I am so glad that I did! And you can get it in a bundle for a 15% saving, I love a bargain!
I will be holding regular classes with different little 3D items each time, but I am happy to repeat any class - I love to make these little holders! Let me know if you would like to book into one of my Chicks and Chocolates classes!

Until next time,

Christmas Is Coming!

You know it's August, right? That means that Christmas is only 20 weeks away - don't laugh, those 20 weeks will fly by! Now comes the busy times at school with exams and class activities - there are only 7 more weeks of term 3 left, and we all know how quickly term 4 flies by, it feels like we just start term 4 and the next week we are saying goodbye!

Why am I trying to scare you with reminding you how quickly the year is going? Because it is time to start thinking about your Christmas craft! Particularly your Christmas cards! Do you want another year to go by without making your friends and family lovely, handmade cards? Are you happy to send out those mass-produced boxed cards again?

I'm not!! So now is the time to book yourself into one of my upcoming Christmas classes, or to book me to come to you for a stamp-a-stack (where you stamp a group of easy to reproduce cards in one sitting) or book a party so that I can show you how easy Stampin' Up! is making your Christmas craft this year with our new Holiday Catalogue!

The upcoming Holiday Catalogue begins on August 29th and is choc-full of gorgeous kits and packaging ideas, easy to assemble and decorate by yourself at home, or get together with me, with or without your mates, and we can do it together! Crafting is a great stress-relief, particularly this time of year when you can product gorgeous cards and packaging that you can surprise and delight your friends and family with!

I have just added a bunch of new classes to my website - click on the pink button in the sidebar or click here to go to my website and see what's coming up.

Got an idea for a class in mind? Just ask, I would be happy to accommodate you! I love Christmas and everything that goes with it - except the heat of a Perth Christmas lol! - so invite me to show you some great ideas for your Christmas craft this year!

If you would like a copy of the upcoming Holiday Catalogue, let me know, I would be happy to get one to you!

Act. Belong. Commit.

I'm sure you've seen those ads on the tv (and I hope they don't mind that I've borrowed their catchphrase) - sometimes you just need something to get you out of your head and into your life!

I firmly believe that you need to do something just for you - go for a walk, play with the dog, see a movie, make a card or scrapbook page. Whatever it is, just get out there and do it! Far too many of us sit and wallow in our unhappiness, and what a waste of time that is! I'm not saying that going for a walk once will change your life (but it might!). You need to find your thing and go for it!

For me, I found papercraft. I had a friend that did party-plan for a craft company, and she got me into making cards. I was always crafty, but I found my niche when I started taking classes at her place - nothing fancy, just a few mums from playgroup, with our kids playing at our feet while we chatted and made cards. I had a hubby that worked away, my family lived far away and I was feeling overrun and undervalued. I needed something to get me moving and stop me overthinking everything going on in my life - and there are more people that feel that way out there than you can imagine!

So papercraft came along at the right time for me. There are many party plan companies out there, and I found one that suited me and my style - Stampin' Up! I am a mad SU! supporter - can't get enough of it! I love to share how wonderful I feel when I have made something or shown someone else how to make it, and see how happy it makes them. I am lucky enough to have found some lovely friends over the years that I probably wouldn't have made without starting with Stampin' Up! I feel very lucky that I have found this wonderful company.

Does this sound like you? Do you need a creative outlet? Do you need to get out and about and make new friends? Why not take a card class, or try your hand at scrapbooking? You could even join me in being a Stampin' Up Demonstrator - even if it is only to get the fabulous discount and other perks associated! And don't panic - you don't have to demonstrate anything if you don't want to - it's just what we are called!

If you would like more information on upcoming classes or how to join my team or find a demonstrator in your area, let me know! I would be happy to help :)

If you would like to know more about Act. Belong. Commit. click on the highlight and check out their website.

Until next time,
