Do you use embossing folders in your crafting?
I don't use them nearly enough. They add such a fantastic texture to plain card stock, but you can use them for more than that!
Have you ever tried colouring with your embossing folders?
This is how it looks when you add the same colour ink to the coloured card stock - how cool is that?
This card uses Daffodil Delight, but you can make the same effect using nearly any colour!
So, first you need to ink up your embossing folder using your inkpad, just swipe it over the 'debossed' side - that's the side with the Stampin' Up! logo on the outside. You can see it's the right side if the pattern isn't raised, it should be smooth.
I find I have the best results using our original felt pads, but you can use the newer firm foam, just be very very gentle when you swipe, don't use any pressure as the ink can get into the deep parts and the effect will be less of a wow.
Pop the same coloured card stock into the embossing folder and close it gently, making sure not to move the card stock when you do.
Run it through your Big Shot - as the folder is so think (it's one of our dynamic ones) you will only need the platform and the top acrylic plate.
Once embossed, you can carefully take it out of the embossing folder and use it on your card :)
How quick and simple was that? It makes the card look like you have spend ages colouring it, but it was done in a flash - so easy!
You can do this with most of our embossing folders, but this particular folder is FREE with a $90 purchase during Sale-a-bration, which does finish this month, and this folder, like all of our Sale-a-bration free items, is while supplies last, so if you love it, get yours now before they either run out or the promotion ends :)
Let me know if you have any questions!
cheers,
Kylie :)
