2018 Colour Revamp!!

One of the first things we heard about at our recent Onstage training day, was the Colour Revamp!
And boy oh boy, is it big! But so great!
I am going to miss a couple of the colours that are leaving us, but I do agree it was time for a new look colour lineup!

Check out which colours are saying goodbye, which colours are returning and which colours are new!

So, how does this affect you? It doesn't!
All of your current inkpads are still perfectly ok to use, even if you are a demonstrator! It's only a few of the colours that are changing, and the shape of the inkpad itself!
You don't need to go out and purchase all of the new style inkpads - continue to use the current style until you have to replace, and just purchase the new colours and new in colours in the new style as you need them.
The new inkpad reinkers will contain a defoaming agent to help with the bubbling you may have noticed on the surface of the firm foam inkpads. So don't throw away your older ink refills, they can still be used on either the new (if you purchase a replacement) and the current inkpads. And if you purchase a reinker from the new catalogue, you can use it on an older style inkpad (excluding Basic Grey) with no problems.
The current inkpad caddy, which is retiring, will eventually be replaced with a new design, to better fit your new style pads. But the new style does fit into the current caddy, just not as tight a fit.

So - you know that the Retirement List is out, and things are beginning to sell out already, so don't delay if you need to add to your craft stash, pop your order in as soon as possible :

Until next time,
Kylie x

Onstage!

Yesterday was our Demonstrator-only training day, and we were lucky enough to have one here in Perth - at Rendezvous Hotel in Scarborough.

This was the view from the Dome coffee shop attached to the foyer of the hotel where Onstage was held, just gorgeous!
The area has just undergone a massive overhaul, and when it's completely finished, this will be another gorgeous part of the coast you just have to visit!

We had to check in pretty early - 7.30am early! But it was so worth the early wake-up time! I went to Onstage with one of my team, Sandra, and as she is deaf, we were able to go in early and get a table right down the front so that she could lip-read the presenters, how thoughtful is that of Stampin' Up! ?
Here is our view from our table - that's how close we were!

All of tables were decorated and all were different colours, and each place setting had presents!

We watched stamping presentations, both live and recorded, heard about some upcoming products in the new catalogue, had some business presentations, demonstrator recognition and our very own copy of the new catty!!
I can't share any info from the catalogue just yet, ( just know that it will blow your mind!) but I CAN share some of what we were given on the day!
Check out this gorgeous tote bag, it's reversable!!

Inside the bag was a lanyard for our name badge, pens, a prize patrol pin, and a new stamp set.
We were also handed this gorgeous striped box, which held a light box!
On the table we had a planner and matching grid paper, which I was very careful not to stamp on and ruin so I could bring it home haha :)

During the day, we had prize patrol - in our bags was a coloured, numbered pin, and if your colour/number was shown on the screen, you won a brand new stamp set! Everyone ended up winning a prize patrol, I got the cutest set!
There was also an all-attendee prize patrol too, even more exciting new stuff!

In between both in-person and on-the-screen stamping presentations, we made 4 cards with brand new product from a big tote in the middle of the table, I can't wait to show them to you!

We had a break for a yummy cupcake to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Stampin' Up! - it was the best cupcake I have had in a long time!!

We were able to see all of the projects presented on display boards as well as the hundreds of swaps that the attendees made, so much inspiration! Plus all of the new suites were on display boards scattered around the foyer, so that we could see and touch - I love the amazing effort SU! puts into these events!

At the end of the event, we were told to dump the contents of the massive product tote into the middle of the table, then we took turns choosing something from it - I ended up with a stamp set, a package of dimensionals, amazing watercolour-look cards and envelopes, and a new versamark pad - so very generous!!

It was such an amazing day, you have to see it to believe it! Our next training day is in November, in Brisbane, it's going to be an amazing party as SU! is celebrating it's 30th year.
Will you be joining us?
Want to find out how? Contact me to find out more!

The retirement list is out Tuesday 10th, so be sure to check back then, but if you wanted the reinkers for the retiring In Colour Inkpads, you'd best put your order in tonight - they will be gone in a blink as soon as the list is released!

Until next time,
Kylie

Onstage April 2018 Swaps

Today I am off to Onstage!!

Every 6 months, Stampin' Up! has a Demonstrator-only training day called Onstage. It is a fun-filled, exciting day, and always showcases a new catalogue arrival. We get to see and experience new product, ways to use that product and get to play with it!
The day includes a gorgeous canvas bag filled with new goodies, a healthy boxed lunch, display boards filled with new product and samples made by talented local demonstrators, live stamping demonstrations, 4 projects for us to make during the day, a chance to win free goodies at prize patrol and of course, swaps!
Swaps are cards, or card fronts, or small 3D treat holders that you swap with other demonstrators, sharing ideas and other ways to use our products you might not have thought of yourself. Great for sharing with your customers!
I decided to make a little chocolate holder as my swap this year. I have shown you how to make this little box before, using the Coffee Break Designer Series Paper, but this time I decided to use the Picture Perfect Party Designer Series Paper from the Occasions catalogue, and Bermuda Bay cardstock.
To see how I made this little treat holder, click here and it will take you to that earlier post.
I took some photos as I made them:

There are 75 of these little treat holders ( no idea why 75, it's just how it turned out haha) , and they each hold a single Merci chocolate. To get at the chocolate, you just slide off the belly band. I will also include instructions so that they can make these little holders themselves. They are so quick and easy to make, and a lot of fun!
If you would like to go to one of these training days the next time they are in your area, why not join as a demonstrator? You can join just for the discount if you like - and you still get all of the perks!
Click here to see if Stampin' Up! is for you :)
If joining just now isn't for you, would you like to learn how to make these cute little treat holders? Invite me over for a free workshop, a couple of your friends, pop on the kettle, and let's get stampin'!
Thanks for stopping by!

Wood Textures Designer Series Paper

I just love this Wood Textures Designer Series Paper (dsp for short), don't you?

This paper has been a bit of a sleeper with me - it was one of the first dsp that I ordered once the 2017/18 catty was released, but I didn't really do much with it.

I came across a cute, easy card last week using a small strip, but for me it was a wow! My stamp club girls are all for quick and easy and this will certainly fit the brief!

If you saw my last blog post, you will recognize this card layout :)

This is a straight out CASE I found online, I can't for the life of me find the original to link back (if i do come across it I will link it) and if this is YOUR original creation,  THANK YOU! and please let me know and I will pop your link in here!

So simple and yet so good! You can't see it in this pic, but there are scored lines either side of the dsp which gives texture and interest to the front of the card. Measurements for these are in this previous post.

I used the dsp to make a couple of small 'pinwheel' projects.
There is a 'card in an envelope' and a small box, both with pinwheel closures.
Both are really cute, and super simple to make, and can be made in any colour and for any occasion, and can even be made from card stock for a sturdier result!

Let me know if you would like to get together and make these cute little projects - either one would make a great 'make and take' at a free stampin' party.

Plus, this is the type of project my stamp club girls make, nothing too complicated, just fun and fabulous!
If this is something you would like to do on a monthly basis with your mates, let me know - I am looking to start new stamp clubs :)

You can contact me for more info, or pop into my online store to purchase this versatile dsp to add to your crafting stash.

Until next time,
Kylie

Easy Peasy Card Idea

How cute is this card?
I'll you in on a little secret - it took me less than 5 minutes to make it! And you can use ANY designer series paper (dsp for short) to suit any occasion!

Here's how:
1. Cut your A4 cardstock in half, creating a card base. Score at the halfway point and fold in half using your bone folder for a crisp edge.
2. Cut yourself a dsp strip measuring 14.8cm x 2.9cm.
3. Using either your trimmer or your Simply Scored Scoring Tool, position the open card ( you are scoring on the inside now) with the long side to the top of the tool and score at 2.9cm and 3.2cm (in inches that is 1 1/8" and 1 1/4") and 6.3cm and 6.7cm ( in inches that is 2 1/2" and 2 5/8").

4. Adhere your dsp in between the lines, and stamp your sentiment - I used the Vertical Greetings stamp set.

To make the matching envelope, I used the envelope punch board.
1. Cut your cardstock to measure 20.3cm x 20.3cm.
2. Place cardstock into the punch board and punch and score at 8.7cm, then using the score guide, line up your score lines on each side and punch and score.

3. Cut a piece of matching dsp measuring 11.1cm x 11.1cm (or 4 3/8" x 4 3/8").
4. Put the dsp into the corner punch on the back of the punch board, and round the corner. With the rounded corner to your left, slide your paper into the punch board and punch at 11.1cm. Flip your paper over, and again with the rounded corner to the left, slide to 11.1cm and punch.

5. Choose one of the larger triangles of the envelope and place the liner, only adhering the top portion above the fold line. Fold up the rest of the envelope, adhering the bottom to the sides and pop a small piece of adhesive on the top flap to seal it shut once the card is inside.

You can make this type of card with any designer series paper and change up the sentiment to suit the occasion. Quick and easy but oh so cute! And it's a great way to use up your spare dsp, especially as the new annual catalogue is coming - I need to make room for all of the lovely new papers coming!

If you love this paper, don't delay in placing an order - the retiring list is coming out in a couple of weeks, and once out, all dsp is 'while stocks last' - you don't want to miss out on your favourites (or pay exorbitant $ amounts on ebay!).
You can pop into my online store here :)

Happy shopping,
Kylie
