How Sweet It Is DSP

Have you seen the How Sweet It Is DSP from the Occasions catalogue?
It's so bright and cheery, just perfect for little girls and sweet birthdays!
It also has a cute suite of products that match - from stamp sets to ribbon and even cute little treat cups!
You can see the range in my store here.
I wanted to show you how I decorated my Merci treat holder when I altered the size to fit another chocolate bar I found in Aldi - the Choceur 40g bar 5pk.

The How Sweet It Is dsp has a few sheets in it that have large images that you can either fussy cut (as I did) or have matching dies to cut them out. The sheet I used has the cute little wrapped lollies on one side, and the lolly jar images on the other, I just cut out the ones that fit the treat holder best and adhered them with dimensionals. I added some Wink of Stella to the lollies inside the jars for a little bit of sparkle.
The Choceur bars are double wrapped - inside the brand wrapper is a foil wrapper - if you carefully take off the brand wrapper, you can decorate the silver wrapper in any colour to match your treat holder!
I left one plain to show you the inside foil wrapper, and simply wrapped the other one in the same dsp I used to decorated the holders, and it slides in perfectly. You could also just decorate the bar in it's silver wrapper and give that without a holder, still just as cute!
You can find the chocolate bars in Aldi, they come in a 5pk and I saw several different flavoured packs. I've used the white chocolate in mine.
To know how much paper you need to decorate your chocolate bar, just measure the back and one side, then double it and add a cm to add your adhesive to, wrap and you're done!
We used to be able to do this with Furry Friends (remember them??) and cadbury bars before they all started being wrapped in that heat sealed plastic, I'm glad I found a chocolate that still comes in foil :)

More Customer Thank You Treats

I have some more 'customer thank you treats' to share with you today:

I made them using the same type of holder that I use for my Merci wallets, I just changed the measurements to fit this chocolate bar. The bar is part of a 5 pack that I found in Aldi - I have seen 3 or 4 different flavours in this size, these ones hold a white choc and a milk choc bar.
I used the Botanical Butterfly dsp from the Occasions catalogue, and the pop of colour is Bermuda Bay. I've added a magnet under the sentiments to keep the holder closed.

Place a $50 or more order, and I will include the instructions for this holder for free :)

Do you have an upcoming event that you think these little treat holders would be great for? I'm happy to take orders for these - message me for more details :)

cheers,
Kylie

Just A Note...

I treated myself to some embossing folders, and I've just opened them - they are amazing!
Stampin' Up! embossing folders are made for us by Sizzix, and these ones are the new Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folders - meaning that they are deeply textured, even the Subtle folder (used on the Grapefruit Grove card) is beautifully detailed, although it may be hard to see that from this photo!
They embossing folders are extra thick, and you don't need the top acrylic plate when you run it through the Big Shot.
Remember to run the embossing folder through spine-first, and it will last pretty much forever!

Here are the 3 embossing folders that I used today:

Subtle 143706 $17.00

Tufted 146335 $16.00

Basket Weave 146841 $16.00

These are the cards I made using the embossing folders above, all three are very simple, just a butterfly cut from the Botanical Butterfly Sale-a-bration dsp, a strip of coordinating card stock and the embossed card front. I used the Clear Wink Of Stella glitter brush on the butterflies for a bit of sparkle, but it also looks cute without it. I popped the butterflies up on mini dimensionals for a bit of lift.
I used the stamp set that comes with the Soft Sayings Card Kit (145466) on page 8 of the annual catalogue, but you could use any sentiment that you have in your stash :)

 Tufted Embossing Folder

 Subtle Embossing Folder

Basket Weave Embossing Folder

In case you would like to order any of the above to make your own, I've included the supplies below.
Feel free to place an order either in my online store or by email :)
Until next time,
Kylie :)

Floral Romance meets Life is Grand....

Stampin' Up! demonstrators are so generous and sharing with their ideas and projects, you can never say "I don't know what to do with this product", all you have to do is google, and there will be inspiration wherever you look!
I follow a U.S. demonstrator called Patty Bennett - she is amazing!
Patty posted a card on her blog a while back, and it instantly made me want to sit down and make it - and I finally did!
Using the Floral Romance dsp and the Life is Grand stamp set, both from the new Occasions Catalogue, I remade her card - which you can see here - plus made some more using the other stamps in the set:

To do the Hello one without the "dear friend" part, I cut the stamps apart (don't stress, they fit back together beautifully when I want to stamp the whole sentiment ) I often cut stamps apart so that I can have more versatility in their uses, but if you can't bring yourself to do that, cover the part of the stamp that you don't want inked up with sticky tape, then peel that off once you've inked the stamp, before you stamp it, and you have the same effect :)

The Floral Romance dsp is a mix of paper sheets and vellum sheets. I cut the leaves out of one of the vellum sheets, then attached them with glue dots, which don't show through the vellum. The woodgrain sheet behind the sentiment is another sheet from the dsp pack.
I cut the white sentiment panel out with the Stitched Shapes (for the oval) and the new Rectangle Stitched Shapes from the Occasions catalogue. The Old Olive twine was also from the Occasions catalogue.
These cards came together quite quickly, I really like them, so thanks Patty for your inspiration!
