It was Perth's turn on Saturday to host the Make a Statement Digital Tour for the fabulous software for digital designing that Stampin' Up! released earlier this year - My Digital Studio.
I played with MDS when it first came out, as Stampin' Up! has generously made a free trial available to everyone, and you get to play with it for 30 days before you have to decide whether you want to buy the full version or not. I advise everyone to try it - it's FREE and it's fabulous!
When I registered for Convention we were given the full version - for free, how generous is that?? - and I didn't play with it again until after convention. I attended a class there, even though I didn't have a laptop to practice on, I was able to follow along and I even managed to retain that information to use when I got home. Once I started playing with it, armed with just that little bit of information, I was amazed at how easy it was to use!
So when Stampin' Up! announced the Tours for August I talked to some of my friends/team members and we made the decision to go along and see what we could learn next. What a fabulous day! Stampin' Up! provided wonderful presenters and helpers and we sat in the comfort of the Convention Centre and immersed ourselves in My Digital Studio.
The presenters - Sarah Klass and Sophie Zadeh - went through how to add photos to one of the photo book templates included in MDS, how to alter colours and layouts, how to add embellishments and elements and repeated the steps as needed without making all of us newbies feel like newbies lol! It was relaxed and informative and I'm amazed at how easy it all was once you started "pushing buttons" as Sarah suggested! I really enjoyed myself and can't wait to start a photo book in MDS myself - it's time all of those convention photos had a home!
There were wonderful "physical" displays of scrapbook layouts, party décor, Christmas Advent Calanders, photo books etc, all made in MDS, available for us to be inspired by and take pics of. There was also a whole table filled with fabulous new product from the upcoming Holiday Catalogue, and we had the opportunity to win new product with the Prize Patrols making an appearance - so exciting!
Once our brains were filled to capacity with new and exciting information, the session was over and it was time to go - but not too far! Our train went right by the Crown Casino, so it was only fair to stop in for a cocktail or two and something yummy to eat!
It was a really great day all around, and I am so grateful to SU! for providing us with such wonderful product and opportunities to learn more about it. I am most grateful to SU! for the friends I have made - the two ladies I went with I have grown close to because of SU! - and that is the best part of all!
If you would like to know anything about My Digital Studio or more about the Digital Tour, contact me today! I would love to hear from you!
Until next time,
Kylie xxx
